I feel like I know Vietnam, even though I've never been there. The first decades of my life were spent reading newspaper accounts of the horrific massacres we Americans brought about in the country. Thank God it's over!
Hope the ever ending "traffic horns" aren't getting to you too much. Try and get to Cambodia... more laid back, particularly in the east of the country.
Can't imagine cycling the main Vietnam north south AH1 drag can be much fun...

I agree. It's best to stop and hang out, get to know people. I'm all for slow cycling.
