Kanab, Utah

A great morning after snowed thru the night.

Grand Canyon

Some shots from last week
From the east rim

Sunrise from the east end of the Grand Canyon.   Notice I'm camped 4 feet away from the rim. On federal land took me a hour off route to find. Secretly givin spot by park ranger. And wow what a spot didn't get much sleep but wanted to test my nerve.

So that night I'm lying there thinking all the things you think while in a dangerous spot .....will boulders fall on me or tree fall...

For here it's like ....wonder if I sleep walk bad time to find out...
But things worked just great...did get some sleep.. But the hike back to the road (89) 5 miles was tough .

Velocity was founded by Tom Black just outside of Brisbane, Australia in 1989.  Our first product was an adjustable aluminum waterbottle cage called the 'Velocage'.  It was such a clever and simple design that sales spread outside of Australia to the United States, by way of Tom's brother John Black of Kentwood, Michigan.  As the company grew, so did our product offering and in 1991 we introduced our first aluminum rim, the Aero.  Velocity set itself apart by offering a variety of rim drillings, sizes, and colors for the custom wheel builder.  Our reputation was formed by providing an exellently manufactured and high quality product, with service and flexibility that is unmatched.  In 1998 we began to produce fully built wheels using cleverly sourced high end components paired to Velocity rims.  Many generations of high end, fully customizable wheels later, The Wheel Departement, was formed in Grand Rapids, Michigan near the beginning of 2011.

Our mission is to provide you with wheels, rims, and accessories that allow you to enjoy your bicycle to its fullest extent.  To us, that means providing incredibly durable yet performance oriented equipement that can be customized to your tastes and desires.  Best service center  Five Star Service.

Born of the love for the hand-built bicycle wheel and it’s powerful ability to revolutionize rides, lives, and communities: Sugar Wheel Works, formerly Epic Wheel Works, was founded in Portland, Oregon by Jude Kirstein.

The work begins with the small things. How the company operates is equally important as creating and building a quality wheel. From what lubricants are used, how local orders are picked up and delivered, Sugar strives to make a positive impact on the community and beyond. I really believe there is no place better to get your wheels built. Sincerely  Greg.
